Request For Proposals
The Mosaic Literary Conference offers a space for creative thinking and knowledge exchange centered around literature. Each year, we depend on the essential contributions of educators, artists, and community organizations to lead accessible workshops and panels. Community participation is vital, as we encourage attendees to apply what they learn to their programs, curricula, and daily lives.

MLC: JAMES BALDWIN AT 100
The Literary Freedom Project’s yearlong celebration, James Baldwin at 100, delves into the rich diversity of subject matter that Baldwin's work encompasses, offering a comprehensive exploration of his legacy: race, gender identity, policing, and other pressing issues.

Panel or Workshop
Time slot: 1 hour
Proposals can explore topics such as class, race, gender, social engagement, or other themes related to James Baldwin's writings and life. Your presentation should enhance attendees' understanding of BIPOC cultures, histories, and social studies. The Literary Freedom Project encourages you to think beyond traditional boundaries. 

  • Facilitator: $400, Panelists: $300
    Panels can include a facilitator who will lead the discussion and a maximum of four panelists who will contribute their unique perspectives and insights.

  • Workshop: $400

Include your presentation’s title and names and 50-word bio of the facilitator and panel participants, as well as a one-paragraph description: What questions will you explore, why is this timely and necessary, and how will this presentation further the goals of the Literary Freedom Project? The Literary Freedom Project presents the Mosaic Literary Conference. LFP values the variety of cultures in the Bronx and gives residents places to build community and explore social engagement through books.
